Beloved in Christ:
It is time to say goodbye and Godspeed to our beloved Director of Music and Arts, Brian Williams. After 23 years of service, of offering his talents and skills and friendship to all at Calvary, Brian is moving to become the Director of Worship and Music at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. There will never be enough words of thanks and love to offer him, but we will try this coming Sunday, January 23 at 3:00pm when all are invited to gather around fire pits in the Oasis Garden to enjoy some cold weather snacks and tell Brian how much we love him, will miss him, and give him our very best blessings of success in his new job. Bundle up and enjoy winter in the Oasis Garden and the blessing of fellowship with one another.
As Brian leaves, we will welcome our Interim Director of Music, Dr. John Schultz. John will begin playing the organ and conducting the Motet Choir for worship services on January 30. John is a long-time friend and supporter of Calvary and has worked with many of our choir members during his long tenure of conducting the Mayo Chamber Symphony as well as working in numerous music festivals in southeast Minnesota. John was the Director of Music and Organist at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church several years ago, and at his retirement, was the Organist and Director of Music at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing. John and his wife Jane Gardner live in Northfield and attend All Saints’ Episcopal Church. John will be with Calvary on a part time, 20 hours a week basis. Welcome John!
With gratitude,
Beth+
