From the Rochester Symphony:
Five of our finest brass players sound forth on centuries of gems from ancient dances to modern jazz. Brass bring the most powerful sounds in an orchestra, but they also blend to make an intimate ensemble. Whether in renaissance dances by Susato and Morley, romantic musings by Ludwig Maurer, a suite on nature by modern Canadian Morley Calvert, or the electrifying songs of Bernstein’s West Side Story, this program will showcase the energy and surprising variety of the brass quintet.
