It is an interesting and exciting time to live in Rochester, Minnesota, and to belong to the beloved faith community at Calvary. Our next door neighbor, the Mayo Clinic, is in the mid-life planning stages of a massive expansion in order to provide the very best, world-class medical care possible to so many who come seeking hope and healing from incredibly gifted care teams, clinicians, and researchers. As you know, people come from all over the world to, as my Chicago grandmother called it in the mid-1900’s, “The Mayos.”
Please come to Crawford Hall this Sunday, September 24, at 9:15 to hear what is happening, as much as your vestry, wardens and rector know, about the Mayo plans and what we are doing in response to those plans at Calvary right now. Bring open ears, open hearts, and open minds, your questions and your comments. Together, over the next months, we will discern God’s call to us in this beautiful and historic church, and explore how God is calling us into the work of our future. Please join in! We will try to provide a Zoom link for those who would like to attend in that way. That information will be provided in an email blast on Friday, September 22.
