Beloved in Christ:
As Calvary joins Christians all over the world in preparing for Holy Week and Easter, you are deep in my prayers.
There are numerous opportunities for connection through worship here starting on Passion Sunday, and I hope that you will be able to join in as much as possible. The arc of the last week of Jesus’ life stretches from this Sunday to next, from his triumphal entry as the Messiah into Jerusalem, through his betrayal and arrest, his trial and crucifixion, to his burial. Then, at the Easter Vigil on Saturday night we will enter Calvary in darkness and leave in the bright light of Alleluias and Jesus’ resurrection, and celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter.
There is such joy in our community connection this Holy Week after two years of not being able to worship and break bread together. I hope that you will sign up to attend the Agape Meal on Saturday after the Vigil, and then come in joy, with your Easter attire bright and shining, to worship our risen Lord and give thanks for the miracle of new life given to us by God every day.
In gratitude and love,
Beth+
