February 8, 2022

Beloved in Christ:

It was so good to see many of you on the Zoom screen this past Sunday for our Annual Meeting. People were engaged and asked good questions. Congratulations to our new Vestry members: Michelle Ackerman, Laura Ehling, Amy Crockett, Charles Gilmore, Woodie Cross and Aaron Mueller and Clerk Cassie Kennedy who join new Senior Warden Colleen Timimi, Junior Warden Scott Bauer,  co-treasurers Laurie Leaf and Christie Atwell, and continuing Vestry members Julie Tschumperlin, David Reiman and Nathan Spillers in the Vestry work. Eternal thanks to those who retired, Tom Abts, Lisa Thomas, John Winter, Chris Sikkema, Tim O’Neill and Claire Heins. Now Colleen Timimi, Scott Bauer and I and the Vestry will get started immediately on our priorities for 2022, with the next Vestry meeting on February 20. Watch for lots of communication and opportunities to get involved in many ways in Calvary as we begin to move forward with God’s help and with hope, creativity, energy.

After several weeks of being very careful during the surge of the Omicron variant and taking part in online worship only, we will resume in-person worship this Sunday, February 13 at 8:30 and 11:00am. The 11:00 am service will be live-streamed, and all people inside our buildings will continue to be asked to wear a mask.  Very soon we will resume a coffee hour at 9:30am and watch for some exciting news coming in Lent – the resumption of our (pre-pandemic) schedule of 8am, 9am and 11:15am services with coffee hour between and following services. It is time to re-engage!

I will be out of town this Sunday continuing to help my mother in Atlanta as she prepares to sell her home of 32 years and move to independent living. The Rev. Canon Henry L. Doyle, a long time friend and supporter of Calvary, will be at both services as Celebrant and our seminarian Gerardo Aponte-Safe will be preaching. I will return to Rochester on February 18 and be back in church on the 20th.

Much love to you all.

In gratitude,

Beth+
