Beloved in Christ:
If you are in town, I hope to see you this Sunday for our 10:30 service – it will be a time of glorious celebration as we welcome Bishop Craig Loya, our 16 brothers and sisters who will be confirmed and received, and all of their families and friends who are coming to support these people as they become members of Calvary and of The Episcopal Church. I have spent the past six weeks with the 10 teenagers and six adults who will be making their public statements of faith on Sunday, and that experience has been pure honor and gift for me. I can’t put a price on how special it is to spend hours talking with teenagers and hearing them talk. These young people started out a little shy, but now they know each other, and I know them, and they me, in the way that only happens when the Holy Spirit binds us together in relationship. And to spend some weeks with adults who are making an important decision about their own spiritual journey is a process that always gives me such joy and hope.
Please keep in your prayers: Dani, Pat, Ray, Randy, Dorothea, John, Adeline, Parker, Charlie, Sawyer, Colin, Everett, Luka, Nadia, and Maggie and Sophie, as they prepare for this very special day.
And, then the picnic! And the pie contest! Thanks in advance for all of the work done on this event by our Fellowship Committee – Cindy Heins and Lee Gilmore and all of the volunteers who are stepping up to help on Sunday. You will not want to miss Holy Cross Sunday at Calvary Episcopal Church: A day full of worship, music, celebration, and fellowship.
In gratitude,
Beth+
